Client: Fotografiska Stockholm

Project (on-going): Logo and identity, signage, sub-brands, pictograms, posters, packaging and products.

Fotografiska is an independent and privately owned cultural venue with exhibitions of photography like Annie Leibovitz, David LaChapelle amongst others. We wanted to take on a challenge to make a symbol. We wanted it to be powerful but yet work well with all kinds of photographs. A symbol could also be ’sold’ applied on different items to make a revenue for the museum in the gift shop. We made a star/flash-shaped logo with the letters F and M that indicate the first letters in the original name Fotografiska Museet. The symbol also ’exploded’ in a playful way into a pattern that is used in various ways in the museum. Working closely with the client has given us the opportunity and inspiration to continuously develop the graphic concept of Fotografiska. The identity was awarded gold medal by the international jury of Kolla! and has been featured in several books and publications.
