Symbol, visual identity, annual report and website for the largest organisation for music publishers in Sweden.
The Swedish Music Publishers Association (Musikförläggarna) is a non-profit trade organisation representing approximately 80 music publishers working in the territory of Scandinavia including Greenland and the Baltic states. It is also one of the founders of the Swedish Performing Rights Society (STIM).
Musikförläggarna needed a new visual identity. We took the chance to make a mark – a very powerful and playful unit in a visual identity. Our solution was a musical note with a doubled flag, creating an ‘M’. We liked the reference to the flag as a statement, that the organisation is on the member’s side and work for their interests. We also liked the energy in the mark. We combined it with the font Soho contrasting light and extra bold. On the website and stationery, we kept the black and white approach saving the use of colour for events, annual reports etc.
