Ellen von Unwerth has photographed women for more than three decades. Her photographs are bold, expressive and portray confident women who live life to the fullest. The exhibition brings together the portraits of stars such as Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Vanessa Paradis as well as iconic photos from the legendary Guess campaign. They are sensual, humorous, and loaded with energy something we wanted to match with the exhibition graphics.
We chose a range of bright pastel colours for the categories: Power; Gender; Play; Drama; Sense; Love and Lust. We played along with the typesetting. For the catalogue, we used the same colour scheme and graphics to accompany the energetic flow of images. To make the invitations stand out, we covered them in fishnet stockings that we cut in pieces and hand-stitched onto the printed invitations.
